Over the familiar smoky, peppery notes of the regular Talisker bottling the Distillers Edition paints a richer picture, its rich fruity sweetness contributing to an altogether richer, rounder palate. The Distillers Edition of Talisker is double-matured in Amoroso cask wood, expertly selected to complement with its sweetness the powerful, peaty, peppery characters of Talisker.
Taste: Magnificent; crisp peat softens to enormous richness, then wafts around sweet, roasted malt, leaving a heathland dryness. Wood controls the pepper; luscious, slightly oily sweetness; ripe, juicy fruit.
Aroma: Remarkable; the stuff of legend. Very well focused. Wonderful grapey sultana sweetness. Clean, tempting.
