The single-variety Nero d’Avola named Plumbago is called after the beautiful violet-coloured wild flower which grows in the woods surrounding the baglio and the vineyards of Ulmo. It is produced from the old vineyard around the Lago Arancio, which presents a soft and fruity version of this great Sicilian variety. Rounded tannins and perfectly adjusted wood make this an immediately pleasurable wine. Food pairing: with grilled meat with its affinity for smokey tones and its natural sweetness which goes with any sauce. Serving temperature: 16-18° C. Taste: The tannin texture is varied and combines its soft, sweet and seductive aspects, like a Sacher torta, with the harder, more direct and austere elements of a block of Modica chocolate. Appearance: A saturated purple-mauve. Aroma: Aromas of ripe plums and wild blackberries and has pleasantly complex aromatic hints of incense, jasmine and black truffle. Grape variety: Nero d’Avola
