Created from the Réserve Perpétuelle and the Réserve wines aged in wood, supplemented with the best wines of a harvest, the Cuvée Collection is deeply anchored in our roots and the foundation of our house in Reims. Freedom characterizes this wine composition, which arises from what nature entrusts to us. This champagne proves to be a great multi-vintage blend for connoisseurs and a worthy representative of the Louis Roederer house. Collection's number allows all wine lovers and collectors to select their wine according to their own preferences in terms of age and maturity. The number under the term Collection refers to the number of vintages of the House of Louis Roederer since its founding in 1776, and allows the vintage to be calculated that results in the base wine for this cuvée (e.g. the 2017 vintage is the basis for the first edition of Collection—the Collection 242). Taste: the entry to the palate is delicious showing a rich and robust texture. We have a very juicy and concentrated sensation as if we were biting into a ripe fruit. The substance is caressingly soft, coating the palate but is then immediately lightened by the delicate bubbles. The length is created by a lovely backbone of chalky freshness. The wine is both delectably rich, with a slightly roasted character, and super fresh thanks to a salivating finish. The smoky notes then take over to underpin a very flavoursome finish. Appearance: lovely golden yellow, very champagne-like, hue. Dense and steady flow of extremely fine bubbles. Aroma: deep, broad bouquet of ripe fruit (wild peaches, william pears) combined with citrus (lemons, blood oranges). The iodised and smoky notes, associated with the autolysis and the ageing in wood, add aromatic freshness. Then come notes of chalk and a hint of reduction, suggesting that the wine will be concentrated and powerful. Grape variety: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Meunier.
