Historically, the Steinberg is closely connected with Eberbach Monastery. By 1239, the site had been acquired through targeted purchases. To protect it from grape thieves and game, the monks built a wall around the vineyard that was up to 5 meters high and almost 3 kilometers long. This wall was completed in the 18th century and has surrounded the vineyard ever since. The wall around the Steinberg protects the site from the infiltration of cold air from the Taunus mountain ranges. Food pairing: with asparagus, light summer cuisine, with poultry.
