In 2003 May de Lencquesaing, the then owner of Chateau Pichon Longville Comtesse de Lalande, purchased land on the historic Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, South Africa. This piece of land was originally granted by Simon van der Stel in 1682, and today is the home of Glennelly Estate, a thriving winery that best utilizes the soils and microclimate of the Stellenbosch valley to produce world renowned classical wines. Food pairing: seafood, white meat dishes, and creamy sauces. Serving temperature: 8-10° C.
Taste: Creamy texture is underpinned with beautiful mineral notes of toasted almond and vanilla. The finish is fresh with great minerality and with a nervous energy about it.
Appearance: Bright crisp colour.
Aroma: Vibrant citrus, lime zest and hints of butterscotch.
Grape variety: Chardonnay
