Domäne Wachau is one of Austria’s most renowned wineries, based in Austria’s most prestigious wine-growing region, the Wachau. Steep terraced vineyards, a cool, marginal climate and meagre primary rock soils define the wines. "Smaragd" symbolises the complex, full-bodied wines of the Wachau, with their excellent ageing potential. Food pairing: Grilled fish, deep-fried dishes, the traditional Austrian "Tafelspitz", as well as grilled white meat such as chicken or veal. Serving temperature: 6° to 8°C. Taste: The refreshing acidity pairs well with the powerful, elegant body and medium alcohol level. Spicy white pepper and a hint of fresh herbs on the palate. Long finish! Serve well chilled.
