In 1862, Don Facundo Bacardí Massó created an elegant sipping rum which remained the sole preserve of the Bacardí family for over a century. It was a treasure they kept to themselves, only to be savoured at the most special occasions. It was only in 1998, when the Bacardí family decided to share this sublime blend with the world, that they realised they didn't have a name for it. Knowing that the deeply layered flavours of this complex golden rum couldn't possibly develop without rums at least eight years of age, they decided to simply christen it Bacardi Reserva Ocho Rum. Taste: Indulges in deep and complex flavours. An exquisite sipping rum, aged for a minimum of 8 years so as to develop a smooth and mellow flavour, it has notes of dried fruits, spices, toffee, nuts, oak and vanilla. Best enjoyed neat or over ice. Appearance: Golden brown. Aroma: Dried apricot and banana leaf.
